Join the Fight Against Childhood Cancer - Hyundai Hope on Wheels
Hyundai Hope on Wheels (HHOW) is a nonprofit organization that is committed to the fight against childhood cancer, by raising awareness and helping to fund pediatric cancer research. Hyundai Motor America and its 800+ dealers and customers help to fund research through a donation that comes from every New Vehicle that is sold. In 2017 HHOW reached over $130 million in lifetime donations to fund pediatric research in the United States.
Hyundai strives for Better in everything they do, Better products, Better service, and Better society. And their desire is to see a better future for kids because they deserve to learn and play in a world that is free of pediatric cancer. Part of the awareness efforts of HHOW is their Handprint Ceremony, where they collect the handprints of children from hospitals around the country, and these handprints are placed on Hyundai cars that will travel in colorful style across the country. These handprints represent kids who have survived, who are fighting, and whose memory will not be forgotten.
HHOW grants four different types of grants to pediatric oncology departments and pediatric oncology physicians. The grants range in both size and duration, the smallest being a one year grant of $50,000 and the largest being a four year grant of $1 million. Less than 4% of federal research funding for cancer is designated for pediatrics, and without necessary funding these kids will miss out on potentially life-saving research.
HHOW is fighting to fund research that will hopefully one day find a cure. You can join in that fight, by visiting Friendship Hyundai in Johnson City, TN today and purchasing a new Hyundai. Browse inventory online, or schedule a test drive today, and help HHOW fight childhood cancer.
